About me

I’m Esther Anaya Boig, a trainee integrative counsellor offering a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space for self-exploration and healing.

My journey into counselling was shaped by my PhD in behaviour change, my longstanding interest in human psychology, and my experience facilitating mindfulness sessions. After years of working in consultancy, research, and university student support services, I felt drawn to work more deeply with individuals. I wanted to be of service to people, helping them navigate life’s challenges in a more personal and meaningful way. I believe that by supporting people in becoming more present and authentic, they can experience a reduction in suffering, leading to greater peace and fulfilment.

I am currently in the first year of my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I plan to achieve accreditation in 2026. As part of my training, I am completing a placement at The Awareness Centre, where I work with NHS clients.

If you'd like to have a look at my work as a researcher, you can check my PhD thesis, and find my publications repository ORCiD as Esther Anaya Boig.

My Approach

I have an integrative approach to counselling tailored to each client’s unique experiences and needs. Drawing from person-centred and psychodynamic perspectives, I create a safe, supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and past experiences with curiosity and compassion. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and guided by the belief that healing happens in connection. By being present with my clients, I create a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore thoughts, emotions, and past experiences with curiosity and compassion.

Therapy with me is an opportunity to deepen your self-understanding, process difficult emotions, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. I welcome clients from all walks of life who are seeking support, whether they are navigating anxiety, stress, self-doubt, relationship challenges, or a sense of disconnection from their true selves.

My approach is also informed by a sensitivity to trauma, particularly how past experiences shape our present emotional world and nervous system responses. Mindfulness is an important part of my work, helping clients reconnect with their bodies and develop greater emotional regulation.

My goal is to support you in finding greater self-acceptance, emotional balance, and the confidence to live in a way that feels more aligned with who you truly are.
