My mindfulness journey began when I started my PhD, thanks to the university offering mindfulness sessions through its Chaplaincy. These sessions introduced me to a practice that quickly became a profound source of insight and resilience, helping me navigate the pressures of academia and life beyond it. Wanting to deepen my understanding, I trained as a mindfulness teacher with Zenways in 2016 and is part of my work ever since.
Before completing my PhD, I began working part-time in the university Chaplaincy, supporting students and staff in managing stress, imposter syndrome, and academic pressures. I still work there today, integrating mindfulness into student support services. As a former PhD student myself, I know first-hand the mental and emotional toll that academic life can take, which is why I developed a dedicated mindfulness series for PhD students.
I continue to refine my skills and deepen my practice, having completed the first module towards certification with the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA).
I offer tailored mindfulness sessions for individuals and groups, drawing from evidence-based approaches such as the eight-week mindfulness for health and wellbeing courses. My sessions provide practical tools for reducing stress, cultivating self-awareness, and building emotional resilience. Whether you're looking for one-to-one guidance, a group space to practice, or a structured course, I create a supportive environment where you can explore mindfulness in a way that meets your needs.
These sessions can benefit anyone experiencing stress, anxiety, or burnout, especially those navigating high-pressure environments such as academia or demanding professional roles. Through mindfulness, we can learn to slow down, reconnect with the present moment, and develop a greater sense of clarity and balance in our lives.
