Movement has been an essential part of my well-being for many years, supporting both my physical health and mindfulness practice. I started practicing Pilates in my mid-twenties when I began experiencing neck pain and debilitating muscular spasms. Pilates helped me build the core strength needed to prevent pain and relapse, and it has remained a constant in my life ever since. Wanting to deepen my understanding and share the benefits of this practice, I decided to train as a Pilates teacher. I am currently completing a Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Pilates (Practitioner), a qualification endorsed by CIMSPA (Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity), with Allison Swan.
My journey with yoga began even earlier, during my undergraduate years, and became an intense and grounding practice during my PhD. Over time, it has remained a central part of my life, both as a personal practice and as something I now share with others. I trained as a Zen Yoga teacher with Zenways, and my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training course is accredited by the Yoga Alliance. This practice integrates mindful movement, breath awareness, and traditional Zen principles to support physical and mental balance.
I offer sessions that combine mindful movement, breathwork, and postural awareness to support your well-being. My teaching is strongly influenced by my mindfulness training, and I encourage clients to develop body awareness, befriend their sensations, and improve their experience with pain. Zen Yoga fosters a connection with the body's natural rhythms, promoting ease and calm, while Pilates strengthens core stability, mobility, and alignment.
Both practices are powerful tools for managing stress, generating balance and strength, and improving our connection with our bodies. More information on my Yoga and Pilates sessions will be available soon. If you’re interested, feel free to contact me.
